Continuing the legacy of Nelson Mandela, Beyond Boundaries.

Every year on the 18th of July, people around the world honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela. Known affectionately as Madiba, Mandela dedicated his life to fighting for equality and human rights, in South Africa.

For us at iSprout, Nelson Mandela Day is deeply embedded in our proudly South African heritage and our people driven culture. To us it’s an honour to continue his legacy and serve our people.

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others.” – Nelson Mandela

Why do we give ‘67 minutes’ ?

Volunteering for 67 minutes on Nelson Mandela Day symbolizes his 67 years committed to public service, humanitarian efforts, and inspiring positive change. By dedicating just a small portion of our day, we collectively carry forward Mandela’s legacy. This year, our iSprout volunteers went above and beyond, giving significantly more than 67 minutes, driven by a passion for social responsibility and giving back to our communities.

As we know that lasting change doesn’t happen overnight. It takes commitment, collaboration, and long-term partnerships. That’s why our Mandela Day efforts are deeply connected to two of our ongoing partnerships with Samen voor de Regio and the Isibindi Initiative.

Making a greater impact together

By walking alongside initiatives and partnering with Samen voor de Regio and the Isibindi Foundation, we’re not only supporting vital social and environmental projects but also empowering sustained collaboration that a creates deeper, lasting impact and meaningful opportunities, far beyond short-term outcomes.

Uplifting Communities in South Africa

In Cape Town, South Africa, we partnered with the incredible Isibindi Initiative to uplift their girls' home. Together our volunteers painted rooms, planted olive trees, and provided fresh bedding, creating a warmer, brighter space designed to empower, motivate, and uplift.

Continuing Mandela’s Legacy in Eindhoven, Netherlands

Not only did we celebrate Mandela’s legacy in South Africa. Our Dutch team wholeheartedly embraced the spirit of Ubuntu at Archipel Eerdbrand in collaboration with Samen Voor Onze Regio Eindhoven. Through cooking traditional meals, sharing heartfelt conversations, and bonding over André Rieu’s music, we strengthened our community connections. This was our second consecutive year at Archipel, and we look forward to continuing this meaningful volunteering relationship in the years to come.

Volunteering allowed us to give, but in return, we received much more. Lessons in resilience, power in human connections, hope, and the true meaning if a community is united. Making Madela proud and caring his legacy forward.

At iSprout, we want to be the difference, and that includes giving back to the communities that make our work possible

Mandela Day reinforces our belief that everyone has the power to make a difference, no matter how small. We encourage you to reach out to your local volunteering center or join us in celebrating Nelson Mandela Day in 2026. Together, we can amplify our impact and uphold Mandela’s remarkable legacy.

We look forward to seeing you in 2026!
